Located in a quiet neighborhood in Cebu City, The Abaseria in Cebu hosts rooms inside a private house via Airbnb. We are constant guests here every time my fiance visits Cebu. To give you a picture of it, think of a beautiful Spanish house with all the old furniture and antiques. Though, the place is kinda modernized already due to renovations. The common areas were the living room, dining room and a reading area. The house hosts a total of five private rooms for short stay via AirBnb.

The last time we were here, we just had our food delivered via Food Panda. While we were eating in that dining table, we were imagining how the house used to be lively with kids running around, the floor being messed up with toys, and the table filled with the family sitting around for meal time. But, now the house was empty. Still, it is beautiful.

That shelf you see there houses books from great authors – Jodi Picoult, James Patterson, Dan Brown, etc. I think that these books are owned by great minds who value reading a lot. These are really good books. The ambiance in this house is something that would encourage deep conversation. I love it.

To those who would like to stay in Cebu, this place is near Ayala and SM Malls. I recommend this place because it is sparkling clean and the room smells real good. The bed is really the winner! For as low as Php 800 a night, you can get this awesome feels I am talking about. Plus, the WIFI connection won’t fail you. I promise.

The Abaseria Deli and Cafe

The second part of my article features the cafe next to the house which offers delicious Filipino foods and local art crafts. The moment you enter the cafe, you will be in awe. You will see products from different parts of the country, and are for sale. These include handicraft items such as fans, bags, casings, baskets, etc. Framed necklaces and other items are hanged on the wall. A corner of the cafe also features some old photos. You will find yourself amused with just going around and checking on every item.

These are the products I talk about which came from various parts of the country – pride of Filipinos.

But, what I can’t forget about our stay is how delicious these delicacies are! I do swear – if you like to taste the best of Filipino delicacies (kakanins), you better check this place out! Thanks to CA for recommending this place. I will surely go back to taste their other dishes.

There is no doubt why tourists, both local and international, always go back to this place. Not only it gives you a comfortable stay, it also gives you a taste of authentic Filipino dishes. This place is located at farthest corner of Quirino St., Villa Aurora, in Kasambangan, Cebu.
