Hello there! Today, I’m gonna give an update on Gideon’s case. If you haven’t read the rescue of Gideon, you might want to check this first out: Rescue of Dog Dying From Mange as Early Birthday Gift. So, it’s been almost two months since we rescued him, and the amazing transformation is now really visible. Thanks to Madre de Cacao Extract for Mange in Dogs – Gideon is really looking great now! Below is the gallery of before and after pictures of our baby Gideon.
What is Madre de Cacao Extract?
Madre de Cacao (Gliricidia sepium) is a tropical tree that is growing almost everywhere here in the Philippines. It is very effective as home remedy for mange in dogs and cats. Many researches that are focused on finding organic alternatives to cure skin problems approved this finding. It can help to rid actively fleas, mites and ticks living on the fur of our fur babies without being toxic to them. That is why many used madre de cacao extract for mange in dogs.

For the information of everyone, mange is a skin problem. Parasites are causing this disease and they are not visible to human eye. It causes hair loss, severe itching and scabs. A lot of street dogs and cats are suffering from these, especially those that are abandoned by their owners. As a result, the dog or cat really suffers, much more if there is malnutrition!
Trip to the vet is still the best decision
If you find a stray dog or cat, or your pet that you think is suffering from mange, it is still best to pay a vet visit. With this, the vet will perform a skin test to determine the underlying cause of the shown symptoms. If the vet confirms the skin problem, he/she will prescribe medicine that will target the parasites on your fur baby. You can also help in speeding his recovery up by applying madre de cacao extract for mange in dogs.
Gideon’s Case
As mentioned in my previous post, Gideons was given with medicine (Nexgard) and vitamins because he was really skinny and lacking nutrition. Thank God as well a friend introduced Madre de Cacao extract for mange in dogs to me. It really helped in bringing the hair lost and relieving Gideon’s super dry skin. The skin was so dry that it was too flaky.
How to apply madre de cacao extract
We bought the shampoo and ointment made out of madre de cacao extract from Haus of Big Paws. Gideon takes a bath once a week. We bathe him with lukewarm water and use only that shampoo for him. Then, we put a generous amount on his body and rub it till it lathers. We let the shampoo stay on his skin for about two to three minutes before rinsing. For the ointment, we apply it during the first weeks of recovery just before he sleeps. The product is organic so there’s nothing to worry if he licks it. These products are proven effective in moisturizing his skin because his hair grows too fast.
