On the first week at my new job, we were sent to Makati for a week-long training. I believe it was also a perfect chance to indulge ourselves to food trips. So, we did. I think there is a correlation on how the food actually looks like and how it tastes. Everyone I know would go first to what looks yummy, but to tell you, everything we ate during this week-long food trip in Makati was delicious. We also tried different dishes – Thai, Japanese, Chinese and of course, Filipino. Due to this, my clothes told me I gained a few pounds when I went back to Cebu.
Food trip in Makati
During our food trip in Makati, most restos are just walking distance from our office and hotel. There were even street foods sold at the main streets. There are many great typical foods to choose, but here are some of the best, and most common in Makati.
Seryna
We were so lucky. We spent the first night of food trip in Makati in this place. It was only a few minute walk from our hotel. When you arrive at this place, you will be greeted by the waitresses, with big smiles. The place was welcoming. The ambience and decors were also wonderful! We ordered a few from the menu and everything was absolutely delicious. Japanese foods never let me down.
Sarsa Kitchen + Bar
This is one of the busiest resto in Rada Street, Makati. They serve Filipino foods, but what I love the most about this resto is the toron. It’s filled with vanilla ice cream! During this time, we found out that it was also the birthday of our Manager. So, it was an instant celebration!

Wildflour Cafe + Bakery
Next on the food trip in Makati is this extremely cozy place with a very exceptional ambience. This place is a little bit pricey – thanks to our AVP for the treat! The service is also great and the foods are tasty and flavorful! What you see is what you get.
Yardsticks
Yardsticks is a quiet, comfortable corner to dine. It is a actually a coffee shop with a great interior design. I also love their white espresso. You would definitely know they come from good beans. This veggie rice bowl was also flavorful. I even finished the whole thing. People there were also working on their laptops. This made me think that the place was a co-working space. I will recommend this to anyone who loves to work and dine at the same time in a quiet place.

Chang Thai in The Pantree Food Hall
The Pad Thai here was good. However, since I have already tasted real authentic Pad Thai in Thailand, I can say that it is not the best I’ve had but a generous portion for the price.

Ooma Japanese Restaurant
Yes. I love Japanese restaurant. Ooma here is located in Greenbelt. I was pleasantly surprised with their food presentation! I loved everything except maybe that their foods are a little bit sweeter. Nevertheless, they still taste good!
Ya Kun Kaya Toast
Food trip in Makati won’t be complete without coffee, because coffee is life! My friend let us try this perfect combo of coffee (with condensed milk) and crispy toast. This is just an ordinary place – small but perfect for quick snacks. We simply took our seats on a little table outside the cafe while waiting for our flight. If you might not know, the toast is actually a toasted bread with coconut spread. Perfect snacks!
Overall, the food trip in Makati was a good experience. One thing I also learned is food trippings are not just about eating well. It’s also about the happiness and excitement of discovering something new… and I enjoyed!
