For almost one month, Philippines has been on quarantine, with people forced to stay indoors and businesses closed in a bid to help stop the spread of Covid-19. For some people, being “locked” up inside the comfort of our very own home during this lockdown means boredom and stressed-induced food cravings. Since I have been craving lately of chocolate cakes, let me introduce to you the delicious pastries and cakes by Chef D.
You may pin this post for later!

Home to Quezon City, the delicious pastries and cakes by Chef D are truly a hit!
Ofleia Meets Chef D
Ofleia, an acquaintance in the blogging realm, met Miss Dulce, a.k.a Chef D as one of the twenty-one (21) participants of the Kapatid Mentor Me Entrepreneurship Program (KMME). KMME is a program by Department of Trade and Industry which aims to help small-scaled entrepreneurs through equipping them the needed skills in running their business for it to become sustainable.
Chef D was timid and at the same time, observant. During the second meeting on the program, the participants were asked to submit their own products for evaluation. Chef D then brought chocolate revel bars in three layers of deliciously chocolatey goodness!
It all started as a hobby
Chef D added her humble beginnings as a baker. It all started 20 years ago as a plain hobby. She would bake for her kids and their classmates. Since she wanted to further enhance her skills as a baker, she attended baking classes. Her hobby was then turned into a business last 2019 with the help of KMME.
Her passion for baking reflects on each revel bar that Ofleia tasted. The cakes she is making possess creativity out of her love and dedication to provide good quality and beautiful cakes to her customers. Her love for her craft transpires on the bread she is baking. She even mastered the art of fondant sculpting which can be shown on her cakes.
When asked what advice could she give to other bakers, she emphasized the need to double-check the ingredients during procurement. Of course, who would like to work with incomplete ingredients? It is even hard to buy missed items at night when you already need to bake. For budding entrepreneurs, this is what she has to say, “Go, go, go, while you are still young, and strike while the iron is hot.”
Bellow is a gallery of her creations.
