Just last night after work, I found my new favorite Korean restaurant in Cebu – CookPub Modern Korean Bistro & Bar. I have tried a lot of Korean restaurants from the past, and I never had the same orgasmic experience like what I had last night with CookPub. CookPub Modern Korean Bistro & Bar is situated at 2nd floor of Island Central Mall in Mactan, Cebu City. It may not be the resto-next-door but I swear, it’s worth the travel to be there.
You not only feast on foods, but also you can feast your eyes on the chic and modern interior design of the resto. The place isn’t that roomy, but has enough space for small and big groups. The surroundings are instagrammable, as well. Another plus factor is the excellent and fast service. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Thumbs up!

Okay, here’s a good news. After you finish ordering, you will get a complimentary Kimchi pancake and Seaweed soup. To tell you, the Kimchi pancake is extreeeemely delicious – crunchy on the outsie, yet chewy on the inside! You should come and try it.
Okay. So, let’s go to the main dishes. We ordered Spicy Chicken and Soy Samgyupsal. Guess what? Spicy Chicken from CookPub Modern Korean Bistro & Bar is my new favorite! Plus, it’s boneless. It’s served with veggies and rice. The chicken is coated with a thick sauce to perfection. Writing about it now makes me drool. I also find Soy Samgyupsal delicious, as well.
There are still a lot to try on. That’s enough reason to come back! The good foods + the great ambiance surely make a feast.
Wait. There’s more…
Here’s more. The resto values their customers a lot. So, they will ask for an honest review from selected customers. Maybe, that’s the reason why their employees are really performing well because asking feedback motivates them. Aside from that, feedback also improves their services.
They also give complimentary Korean ice cream to us after the review. The night was perfected with the dessert.

I wish I knew about this place when we were in Cebu two years ago. (Or maybe it wasn’t there yet?) Anyway, I will have to keep this in mind the next time I hear of a family member who will be vacationing in Cebu. My son and his girlfriend love Korean food and I am positive they will love to dine there.
